Nur Suryani can success in Asian Games

Shooter Nur Suryani Mohd Taibi received a timely boost ahead of the Asian Games Doha 2006 takin gplace in December.

In the last World Championship ended in Croatia on Sunday, Nur Suryani finished a creditable 12th in both the 50m rifle three-position and 50m rifle prone. It was the greatest result achieved by a Malaysian woman in the championships.

Indeed, in the 50m three-position, Nur Suryani accumulated 579 points. Her performance was even better than the Olympic Games champion Renata Mauer-Rozanska of Poland, athlete that finished 16th with a 578 total.

It's also good to remember that Russian Lioubov Galkina bagged the gold with a 586 total followed by Olga Dovgun of Kazakhstan (585) and Lidija Mihajlovic of Serbia and Montenegro (584).

It's important to quote that among the Asian shooters, Nur Suryani was placed fourth behind Dovgun (585), China's Wu Liuxi (581) and Kazakhstan’s Galina Korchama (579).

Finally, we must say that in the 50m rifle prone, Nur Suryani amassed 592 points to be ranked fifth among the Asian shooters behind Dovgun (597), Kazakhstan’s Varvara Kovalenko (594), Thailand's Paramaporn Ponglaokham (594) and Chinese Liu Bo (593).
