Indian pool team getting ready

This are excellent news for Indian sports. Veteran Alok Kumar and national snooker champion Manan Chandra were today included among the probables for the 8-ball and 9-ball pool events for the Doha Asian Games to be held in December.

It's important to mention that the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) announced 16 probables in the men's and women's section after the camp in Kolkata, conducted under the supervision of coaches Manoj Kothari and Subhash Agarwal, concluded two days ago.

"As we know, Kothari used his scientific techniques to show the movement of ball to the players and that helped them a lot," BSFI Secretary Ravi Tandon expressed.

Indeed, the Federation will conduct two camps for billiards and snooker -- from July 26 to August 4 in Nagpur and in mid-August in Mumbai.

"Since one player can represent the country in one discipline, the senior players can contest in billiards or snooker, giving way to the next best qualifier in the pool events," he finished.

We also remember that Anuja Thakur and M Chitra were the two notable players among the women probables.
